How to mobilize your church for prayer
Steps to Launch a Day of Prayer
1. ADOPT A DAY OF PRAYER
Pick a day to pray for the North Olympic Peninsula (NOP). Let us know on the Contact Us page on the website so we can add you to our list of partners. Pick a day of the week (such as 2nd Wednesday or 4th Friday).
2. APPOINT A PRAYER COORDINATOR
The Prayer Coordinator is a member of the church, who with consent of the leadership will promote prayer for the NOP. This person should desire to have an active and healthy prayer life, have a good reputation in and outside the church, and through the help of the Holy Spirit desire to lead in prayer and mobilize others to pray. The Prayer Coordinator should agree to attend a quarterly meeting with other NOP prayer coordinators to encourage each other and pray together.
3. SHARE THE VISION
The Prayer Coordinator may request that the Pastor share the vision with the church during Sunday morning services a few weeks before the first monthly day of prayer. Points to include:
A. Share the goal behind the day of prayer (to join with other churches to pray for the NOP).
B. Refer people to prayolypen.org for further information.
C. Encourage people to sign up.
4. FOLLOW UP
Distribute prayer agenda online or through the mail.
5. PRAY
Pray on the church’s designated day, either on your own or with a group.
